Senior Start Up Operations Maintenance Coordinator

Brief Job Description:

The main purpose and target for this position: Coordinates the Equipment Maintenance during System Completion/Startup and Operations Phases. Acts as a interface between System Completions, Maintenance and Operations in terms of coordinating Priority Maintenance during Commissioning and Startup. Support ‘Operations’ walkdown participant coordination to meet MC, RFSU, RFO/PSSR plan/schedule. Also support communication of walkdown metrics including walkdown participation, duration, punch list items, resolution of punch list items. Communicates with Permit to work leads and Area Supervisor to avoid SIMOPs issues between maintenance and Project work. Develop and maintain opportunity and emergency shutdown work lists, in the event they can be executed together as part of an equipment/unit/plant shutdown.

Job Specification and requirements:


Higher technical Profession “Oil and Gas Industry”

Work experience:

At least 5 years

Language skills:

Kazakh, Russian, English – Level 2 or 3 per TCO scale

PC knowledge and skills:

Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Technical competencies:

General knowledge of the plant units process.

Draw up an operational work plan for team in accordance with priorities.

Determine and highlight critical information and identify possible root causes of problems.

How to work in E1 with WO; Good communications and Coordination with Operations, System Completions and Startup.

Reviews PSSR non-conformances/punch list and track actions to closure. Determine if any action is required as a result of the PSSR nonconformances.

Review the PSSR checklist to confirm the PSSR has been performed as required.

Validate functional reviewers provide the required documentation including Process Safety Information.

Work with different data bases.


Determine and highlight critical information and identify possible root causes of problems

Plan, schedule, communicate, and conduct PSSR activities; including kick-off meetings, desktop checks, inspections, walkdowns, and certificate signoff. 

Communicate potential SIMOPs risk related to Start-up of facilities

Elevate issues that arise to the System Completions and Start-up team

Cascade, elevate and communicate information or issues regarding Process Alarms and Safety Instrumented Systems (Bypass Critical Protection, SIF Activations, PSV Activations)

Ensure execution of critical PSSR activities is included into Systems Completion & Operations P4 and P5 schedules, respectively.

Conduct regular interface meetings with PSSR Focal Points to understand progress/risks/issues.

Facilitate implementation of team approach with his/her behavior and negotiation style;

Express your ideas and communicate them to the direct reports and management in written and verbal forms;

Employ active listening skills.
