Accounts Payable Assistant


Our Renewables client is seeking a Accounts Payable Assistant to work within their facilities in Melbourne, VIC Australia on an initial of 6-months contract.

Position: Accounts Payable Assistant     
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Duration: 6 months contract & potential for contract extension 
Schedule: Monday – Friday & 8 hours per day

Working within the finance team you will be undertaking the following:

  • Day to day AP across seven entities
  • Ensuring all AUD and foreign currency payments are sent accurately and on time
  • Payment runs are processed in line with supplier terms
  • Ensure financial management system is updated for all payments made
  • Processing manual payments
  • Generate and reconcile weekly vendor payment runs and perform specific quality checks
  • Maintain central listing of Direct Debits and Standing Orders with supporting documentation
  • Conducting bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Performing basic general financial reporting and analytical support as requested
  • Providing accounting information to the business for Purchase Order creation
  • Creating vendor/customer change requests with the overseas shared service centre


  • Either a minimum accounting qualification equivalent to Cert IV Accounting/Bookkeeping or a minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an accounts role
  • Effective time management, task prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Experience with SAP (S4/HANA)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Solutions focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and constructive attitude
  • 6 month contract with potential for extension
