Position Summary

1. Personal Responsibility and Accountability:
The Asia Pacific Sales Manager holds a dynamic role within the Eastern Hemisphere sales team, providing a unique opportunity to acquire valuable commercial experience. This position entails active engagement with customers and internal stakeholders, contributing to the expansion of American Gilsonite Company’s business and brand in the Asia Pacific region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As Sales Manager you will report to the EH Sales & Operations Director. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Technical functions and will be required to undertake international travel as we build key relationships with our customers and other business partners. Key responsibilities include but are limited to:
• Client Relationship Management: Manage AGC client relationships as defined by region and product segment, nurturing and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Account Plan Development: Develop account plans for all assigned clients, outlining strategies to meet and exceed client requirements.
• Client Engagement: Establish relationships with assigned clients, fostering collaboration and alignment with AGC’s value proposition.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other AGC sales representatives within “global accounts” to ensure a unified approach to client management and growth.
• Business Reviews: Manage and participate in Business Reviews with the client base, whether formal or informal, to assess and enhance client satisfaction.
• Differentiation Strategy: Determine client-specific “differentiation” strategies to allow for market share growth and competitive advantage.
• Technical and Marketing Engagement: Maintain regular engagement with the technical and marketing teams to align goals and objectives for client satisfaction and growth.
• Revenue Planning: Create annual revenue plans for assigned accounts, updating them monthly to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Case Histories: Work closely with the Marketing team to develop client-level case histories that illustrate AGC’s value and success stories.
• Engagement with Operations Team: Maintain regular engagement with the operations team to ensure smooth product delivery and service to clients.

Competencies
• We are looking for an individual with substantial business acumen and experience in technical sales, with a keen understanding of how to sell on points of differentiation from an application-specific approach.
• Key skills include being a confident, open and effective communicator with a strong outward personal appearance, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relations at all levels in external organizations.
• You must be a positive team player who constructively engages with key internal and external stakeholders, has good presentation skills and the ability to appear professional and comfortable at all levels in an organization.

Qualifications
• Holds a university bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in a related engineering field.
• Must have extensive knowledge of the upstream oil & gas industry with 5+ years drilling fluids engineering experience.
• 2 – 5 years’ experience in drilling fluids sales/account management, international experience preferred.
• Previous experience in implementing strategy as part of a cross functional team and across the organization is preferable.
• Has the ability to use supporting systems such as MS Office including SharePoint.
• Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
• Willingness to work outside of office hours to accommodate Europe and company HQ conference calls.

Compensation/Benefits
• Annual, contract salary USD 80,000 + sales commissions
• Monthly health insurance allowance
