Asset Manager – Renewable Energy


Job description

Our client, a National Renewable Energy Developer in the wind industry, has an opportunity for a Full-time Asset Manager to join their team in Brisbane, Queensland.
This company has recently begun construction on an iconic renewable energy hub in Northern Queensland, with already a strong background on delivering projects in Australia they are looking for an energetic and experienced Asset Manager to join their Brisbane Team. This role requires someone who is competent in commercial contract negotiation, has strong team leadership skills, NEM market knowledge, and financial planning skills. This is a Monday – Friday role, with flexible WFH and office arrangement, visits to site will be required during start up and for milestone events.
The successful Asset Manager will join a team of multi-disciplinary energy specialists who understand the critical nature of constructing and operating energy assets, working towards the companies’ strategic objectives and state responsibilities. Taking ownership of your asset, from both a strategic lifecycle planning and contract management perspective, you will be responsible for building a strong plan for the life of the project, negotiating operations and maintenance contracts, following the construction of the project, and attending stakeholder meetings, as well as responsibilities listed below.
  •  Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, through regular scheduled meetings with project teams, investors, and other SMEs.
  • Defining the strategic long-term plan for the asset and services informing on planning and budgeting while ensuring that these meet financial, HSE, and all other company & state responsibilities.
  • Responsible for creating contracts and procuring O&M contractors of various disciplines and any other staffing requirements that are necessary for the project through its lifecycle.
  • Ability to achieve positive operational outcomes through the management of sub-contractors.
  • Ensure that your people and peers are sufficiently challenged, growing, and enjoying their work.
  • Interface with the Construction and Project Management Teams to ensure long-term operability.  
  • Manage the energy certificates sales through/to AMEO, CER, Off takers ect.
  • Continuous improvement of systems, functions, and procedures to deliver increased performance based on Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Significant and relevant Contract Management experience
  • Additional Project management or Engineering qualification (highly regarded)
  • Team Management experience
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills with an ability to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Two industry relevant Referees
