Job Description:
Our client is in need of an experienced Auto Electrical Supervisor with a background in drill rigs and HME within the mining sector join their team on site in West Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing, guiding and supporting a team of Auto Electricians.
- Carrying out performance evaluations and implementing training programs for skills and knowledge improvement.
- Planning and scheduling daily tasks for the team and ensuring work is completed accordingly.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and repaired according to company and OEM standards for safe and efficient utilisation.
- Mentoring and training subordinates to ensure quality skills transfer.
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for difficult electrical issues on equipment.
- Remaining abreast of current technology and trends.
- Ensuring that health, safety, environmental and quality standards are adhered to; holding frequent safety meetings and training sessions to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Record keeping and reporting on equipment, team performance and any safety incidents.
- Assisting in inventory management of electrical parts and tools to ensure availability as needed and correct usage.
- Effective communication between departments to coordinate maintenance schedules, communicate work activity and resource needs.
- Supplier and vendor relationship development and management for the procurement of electrical parts.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Auto Electrical Trade Certificate, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree with strong auto electrical experience.
- Training in automotive technology or electrical systems.
- 10 years’ experience in the auto electrical maintenance and repairs of heavy mining equipment including Caterpillar Trucks, Excavators and Dozers and drill rigs.
- Proven experience in the mentoring and training of Junior Technicians.
- Well-versed in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues on a wide range of heavy mobile equipment.
- Good leadership, team management, problem solving and communication skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple work activities simultaneously.
- Computer literate in a variety of CMMS.
- Previous Africa expatriate experience preferred.
