The position

By joining our team in Renewables you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive organic and inorganic project development to achieve corporate objectives for Renewables.

  • Develop market strategies for power to optimize the positioning of our renewable energy products and services in the dynamic power market landscape.

  • Analyse and inform on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to provide valuable insights for decision-making.

  • Manage internal governance process and ensure alignment across relevant departments on strategic approaches.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with local authorities, industry, communities, and academic institutions to originate and position Equinor for renewables opportunities.

  • Engage with diverse stakeholders to support strategy development and execution, sharing relevant intelligence and assessing its impact on Equinor’s strategic direction.

  • Continuously foster an external focus, striving to grasp the competitive dynamics within local contexts and their broader implications nationally, while also evaluating Renewables competitive edge across various sectors, markets, and regions.

Equinor is on a journey to become a broad energy company. Our Renewables division is at the sharp end of this ambition. Onshore and Markets is responsible for building a safe and profitable onshore renewables and energy storage business for Equinor and delivering power market and programmatic M&A competence for Renewables.

On joining the Power Market Access unit you can be part of shaping and building up Renewables as a market driven power producer. You will have the opportunity to effectively manage merchant exposure, contribute to building a power portfolio, and maximize life cycle value through optimal route to market strategies and this will be critical to the success of Renewables.

  • Master’s degree and extensive relevant work experience preferably within the renewable industry.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of power markets.

  • Task prioritisation and timely conversion from strategy into execution.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding the broader energy landscape, existing power market, policies, the political system, regulatory and policy frameworks, and ability to apply applicable learnings to help set the strategy within managed projects.

  • Someone who is hands-on, proactive and detail orientated with the ability to deliver a concise summary and recommendation to senior management.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with willingness to work in teams and independently.

  • Proficiency in written and oral English and open to travel both nationally and internationally on a regular basis.
