Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor day-to-day on-site civil subcontractors’ operations and field labor force, including assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction-related personnel.
- Demonstrate a strong background in pile driving operations and concrete placement.
- Assist the Construction Manager in supervising and overseeing the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule.
- Provide technical assistance, including the interpretation of drawings and recommendations for construction methods and equipment, to subcontractors.
- Inspect Contractor or (Sub)Contract operations to ensure compliance with the Contract.
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project/Construction Manager.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer.
- Develop and maintain a site coordination plan, in coordination with the Construction Manager.
- Conduct quality inspections and coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material, and communicate and enforce the Project Health and Safety Program.
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
- Monitor schedules, prepare detailed short-term schedules, and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates.
- Prepare and submit Superintendent’s Daily Reports, documenting weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress, and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, Quality Reports, etc.
- Participate in subcontractor meetings and attend project meetings.
- Provide training and education to support field superintendents and engineers.
- Help set a positive tone for the project.

Education and/or Experience:
- Broad knowledge of the construction industry, including equipment, labor, means and methods, codes, and standards.
- 8-10 plus years of related construction experience in Industrial, Heavy Civil, or Utility and Refineries Experience.
- 30 Hour OSHA Certification.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.

Work Environment/Job Conditions:
This job is performed in the field under all types of climate conditions. Fieldwork requires experience and confidence working in and around equipment, systems, and conditions. Long periods of standing, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and climbing ladders and scaffolding are required.
