Fantastic opportunity for a property lawyer to join this market leading, full service law firm to specialise in commercial real estate with a focus on the property aspects relating to electricity networks. Due to on growing investment in electricity networks and the need to reinforce the electricity grid to meet the growth in renewable energy this is a busy team. The team’s work includes the negotiation of substation leases and deeds of servitude, both with landowners and with electricity suppliers, as well as other transactional work required to support statutory obligations to the electricity network. Involvement in compulsory purchase projects will be also be a feature of the job. You can expect to enjoy a degree of autonomy commensurate with ability, taking transactions from beginning to end, including drafting/populating template documents, corresponding with other firms and undertaking the usual conveyancing formalities at completion, as well as post-completion registration requirements. The position requires the ability to be well organised and handle a significant volume of work, sometimes to demanding deadlines. The team is known throughout the firm as friendly and supportive and comprises both Solicitors and Paralegals. This is an opportunity to work with experienced colleagues in an interesting growth area for a major client, although some exposure to other types of commercial property work is to be anticipated, as some of those in the team advise a range of clients with property requirements in different sectors.
