POSITION SUMMARY 
Community Relations Professional will support the Oklahoma City community efforts, including the employee-matching program, volunteer initiatives and employee fundraising campaigns. This position requires keen event-planning skills and will execute many employee events throughout the year.
 

EDUCATION
Solid educational background bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in public relations or communications.
 
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years of experience in community relations, public relations, public affairs, event planning, communications, or related fields.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for planning and executing employee engagement activities and events.

• Execute employee giving programs, including Allied Arts, United Way and Food Drives.

• Plan and execute employee parties, including the annual holiday party in Oklahoma City

• Coordinate monthly employee socials

• Design and implement special events and projects when needed
• Responsible for the implementation of the employee gift matching program, including communications, approvals and managing the check process. 

Support Oklahoma City charitable donations.

• Support employee volunteer programs, including planning meaningful projects for the community and Devon employees
• Participate in community events and meetings, as appropriate.
• Support community engagement activities including tours, visits, etc. opportunities.
• Oversee promotional item inventory and distribution program to support community programs. 
• Oversee corporate even calendar and ticket distribution.
• Cultivate relationships with Devon employees to support community relations efforts.
 

PREREQUISITES 
• A minimum of two years of experience in community relations, public relations, public affairs, communications or related fields. 
• Evidence of successful event planning capabilities 
• A proactive approach to gathering information and communicating it succinctly and quickly to executives, managers, and employees. 
• Excellent writing and verbal skills. 
• Ability to continually prioritize efforts in response to changing situations and new information. 
• Keen interest in making things happen as opposed to reacting. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
