Job summary:

 

Reservoir simulation is used to model fluid flow in porous media for various applications, including Carbon Capture and Storage and Geothermal Energy systems. SLB’s INTERSECT reservoir simulator is a world renowned C++ code.  It is constantly renewed to incorporate modern compiler technologies.  It is staffed by experts, including compiler contributors. It utilizes the latest technologies from Google (TensorFlow) and Nvidia (CUDA 11.2) in a product combining the most recent advances in AI with the discipline of High Performance Computing, in a competitive product market.  Are you ready for the challenge of high-end industrial C++?

 

 

Essential responsibilities and duties:

 

You will be expected to operate within a multi-skilled and experienced team, taking state-the-art knowledge into commercial software workflows.  You will work on implementing and maintaining efficient software.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Masters or doctorate in Reservoir Simulation, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field

 

 

Required skills:

 

  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills/technologies and solve challenging problems
  • Familiarity with C++ (or similar high-level programming language)
  • Experience in a scientific domain
  • Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

    • Agile software methodology experience
    • Familiarity with Git source control, pull request creation and pull request review
    • Experience in practices like pair programming, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD)
    • Familiarity with build management systems such as Azure DevOps build, and administering continuous integration build systems, specifying virtual machines and designing containerised environments
