BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY The Entry Level Constr/Facilities Engineer assists in design, implementation and management for routine oil, gas, and water surface facilities and pipelines. Works with a broad group of engineers, M&M and EHS staff. Works under general supervision with the assistance of mentors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist field construction personnel in executing construction of production facilities according to design and drawings provided by engineering team
  • Assist with the development of designs and drawings for area specific production facilities to assure compliance with government regulations (local, state/province, federal, etc.) and maximum flow efficiency and hydrocarbon recovery
  • Assist in the design of compression facilities for outside entities on a smaller scale when needed
  • Communicate best practices on facilities throughout the division and company
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failure of production equipment
  • Work in conjunction with safety, environmental and field operations personnel to optimize well site safety and environmental performance
  • Work with field instrumentation and electrical personnel to evaluate electrical system needs of production facilities 
  • Assist in the design and development of detailed cost estimates and construction timing for production facilities
  • Model and design facility piping and flowlines using Promax software
  • Assist in the design of central gathering facilities and production units for multiple wells where applicable which will reduce the environmental footprint and improve operating efficiencies
  • In conjunction with EHS, evaluate, design and modify controls to abate air emissions and maximize hydrocarbon recoveries with improved efficiencies
  • Evaluate proper metallurgy, chemical treatments and cathodic protection to protect surface facilities for use in various pressure, temperatures and corrosive environments
  • Possess the right and obligation to stop work if an unsafe condition exists

 

PREREQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Previous Oil and Gas Industry Internships Preferred
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Devon field locations for initial training period
  • Practice safe work habits at all times
  • Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
  • Knowledge in state/province and federal regulatory laws and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving problems.
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
  • Efficient time management and the ability to concurrently handle multiple projects
  • Intermediate Level computer skills
