Airswift is seeking a Construction Superintendent to support major industrial development activities in Lathrop, California. This onsite role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, high-quality field execution, managing day-to-day construction operations, and coordinating with engineering, operations, and production teams from planning through installation and start of production.

The Superintendent serves as the owner’s on-site field leader, overseeing contractor execution, resolving daily construction issues, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring all installed work meets design specifications, quality standards, and project schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned projects and lead field execution to ensure all means and methods align with design intent and client specifications.
  • Evaluate plans, develop project schedules, support submittal reviews, prepare RFIs, and coordinate in-field shutdowns with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with project teams including QC, QA, Commissioning, Facilities, and Operations.
  • Coordinate contractor activities, establish layout and dimensional control, verify field installation matches design documents, and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site; identify and correct safety hazards while coordinating with appropriate personnel to resolve field conflicts quickly.
  • Review project plans, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams to assess constructability and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage multiple work fronts simultaneously while adhering to all procedures, specifications, and performance expectations.

Skills & Competencies

  •  Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural installation practices for large industrial construction environments.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings including P&IDs, single-line diagrams, layout plans, and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Effective field-based leader capable of driving contractor performance, quality, and safety culture.
  • Excellent communicator across trades, engineering teams, operations, and commissioning groups.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.

Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction or manufacturing experience on large-scale industrial projects (Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Refining, Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors, Data Centers, or similar high-tech facilities).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent), along with First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field and take a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, high-performance environment with tight timelines and aggressive goals.
