CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT CHAMPION
Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement Champion is responsible for spearheading the implementation of the SLB Continuous Improvement (CI) program in a technology center or department. The Continuous Improvement Champion supports line management by leading improvement projects and coaching others in the application of CI tools and techniques. This person ensure that CI efforts are aligned with business objectives and are managed according to program requirements. The Continuous Improvement Champion conducts basic CI training and develops and implements a local strategy to enable centers and departments to achieve operational excellence.
- Work with line managers to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
- Lead or support center-level CI projects.
- Coach managers on the use and practice of CI methods, mainly Lean, Six Sigma and DOE.
- Implement the CI project validation process and ensure project benefits are correctly quantified.
- Conduct training as Lead Instructor for CI Introduction (White Belt) or as Co-Instructor for higher level training.
- Analyze business system data to manage and improve the utilization of Green, Black Belts and other CI-trained employees.
- Develop and implement a local strategy to foster a strong CI culture in the center.
- Ensure CI efforts and activities are aligned with business goals.
- Work with Manufacturing to ensure 5S is implemented and manufacturing process flows are optimized.
- Promote the CI Recognition program.
- Provide support to internal and external Information Technology suppliers maintaining the CI system.
- Execute Concurrent Lifecycle Management procedures related to CI and provide feedback to continuously improve those. Support actions to maintain external certifications.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- This position requires a Bachelors Degree in an Industrial/Production Engineering and/or manufacturing discipline with knowledge and experience in applying continuous improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or similar).
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a fast pace, high volume, large assembly, and/or highly technical environment
- Consideration will be given to candidates having experience equivalent to required education with a minimum of a green belt using identified tools, and/or proven track record in process improvement
- Needs to be familiar with Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC, Agile, 8D, and 5S Strong problem-solving skills
- Must be data-driven and possess a high level of attention to detail
- Working knowledge of process/value stream mapping and FMEA
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to learn other applications related to the job. Experience with Power Platform is a plus.
- Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize workload
- ASQ black belt certification is a plus
- Able to effectively communicate to wide audience from technicians to executives
- Strong leadership and communication skills
