Job Description

Seeking a strong Contracts Administrator to support the Commercial team during the post award phase of a major project based out of Queensland.

In this role you will be ensuring the Head Contract terms are met during the execution phase of the project, your duties will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of the Commercial activities required for the project
  • Ensuing all required notifications and claims are made to maximise the recovery of entitlements under the Head Contract
  • Ensuring the timely notification and follow up of change events on the project
  • Ensuring that the financial reporting of the project is timely and accurate
  • Supporting the commercial aspects of contract negotiations and disputes with the Project Manager and Subcontractors as applicable
  • Ensure that head contract and subcontract obligations are communicated and understood by the site team

To be successful you will have: 

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and/or substantial Contract Administration experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in project/contractual engineering and/or construction
  • Demonstrated ability to assess claims or variations by Subcontractors against the quantity claimed as well as against their contractual requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual issues and provide and/or recommend solutions through appropriate problem-solving techniques
  • Sound commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and inter-relationship skills
  • Able to quickly grasp concepts and apply innovative options
  • Clear and definitive communication – written and verbal accompanied by competent presentation ability
  • Competent in use of all relevant in-house software
