Reporting to the Corporate Relations Manager for LNG Canada, Integrated Gas and New Energies, you will deliver Corporate Relations activities for Canada’s

New Energies and Energy Transition plan opportunities and projects, specifically leading the delivery of value by protecting license to operate, minimizing impacts to stakeholders and indigenous peoples and leveraging opportunities, pursuing strategic ambitions and growing Shell’s reputation. Specifically, this role will:

  • Provide direct integrated CR support to developed and existing New Energies projects and lines of business (emphasis on nature-based solutions and biofuels).

  • Ensure social and reputational opportunities and risks are assessed at an early stage, mitigated or leveraged, and integrated into New Energies business plans.

  • Work closely with CR Public Affairs team to manage New Energies political and policy risk analysis and prioritization, and ensure they are integrated into CR Canada’s policy and advocacy plans.

  • Develop and execute credible and effective Corporate Relations plans to support New Energies projects and businesses.

  • Support scenarios development for energy transition pathways.

  • Identify cross business risks and opportunities and support opportunity identification for New Energies.

  • Lead high-priority integrated mitigation plans for select non-technical risks for LNG Canada, Integrated Gas and New Energies, while managing the team risk register.

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • Bachelor’s Degree is a must

  • Minimum of ten (10) years related work experience.

  • Deep understanding of Canadian energy and stakeholder context

  • Willingness to travel (COVID restrictions permitting)

  • Ability to write effectively and accurately under time pressure

  • Good business partnering skills and ability to serve as trusted advisor

  • Familiarity with Shell’s business in Canada and globally

  • Experience with media or other key stakeholders is an advantage

  • Experience supporting and knowledge of new energies business is an advantage (specifically nature-based solutions and biofuels)

  • Experience managing social and political risks and stakeholder relationship programs is a must
