The position

By joining our team in Technology, Digital & Innovation you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop data architecture across the FOS area, including establishing and maintaining data standards, architecting data flows and ensuring that data security policies are followed .
  • Ensure proper utilisation of Equinor’s data management framework to plan, specify, create, enable, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data.
  • Develop and maintain data models and metadata structures to organize and standardize data assets. Enforce Equinor’s data governance policies to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Build and share competence internally and externally on data architecture, data governance and relevant standards.
  • Stay updated on external research and trends, and exchange experiences with external networks to develop new expertise.
  • Engage into internal Equinor competence network.

The Data architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable data architecture across the Facility and Operations (FOS) domain. This implies taking a holistic view on cross-plant data architecture and determine priorities in close collaboration with stakeholders in the relevant business areas.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar. Lack of formal education can be compensated with experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience with strong knowledge from designing and implementing data architecture, including enabling advanced analytics and data science applications. Experience from enabling machine learning and artificial intelligence is regarded beneficial.
  • Proficiency in designing data models and database schemas to efficiently organize and structure data for storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with analytics and business intelligence concepts, including data visualization, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to data privacy, security, and compliance.
  • Ability to foster sound collaboration with Equinors business areas, with external partners and towards vendors.
  • A systematic and analytical mindset of continuously focusing on how to simplify, improve and deliver results according to high quality standards.
  • Fluency in  English, written and oral, Norwegian would be benefical.
