P&T Projects (PTP) are involved in the management and delivery of Capital Projects worldwide across all Businesses: UA, UI
and DS as well as P&T IRD projects. P&T Integrated Gas Projects (PTP/I) is accountable for project delivery of individual large
onshore LNG projects, and supports the effectiveness of front end-managed projects and NBD opportunities across all parts
of the Integrated Gas Portfolio.
The Construction Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer provides technical support and assurance to Construction Phase
deliverables for the Electrical, Instrument & Telecoms (EI&T) discipline.
Specific accountabilities include:
• Accountable to the Construction Lead for CT/CLU for construction progress, technical integrity and quality of the
Electrical, Instrument & Telecoms scope to deliver required quality in accordance with the project requirements.
• Establish a working relationship and manage performance of contractor’s EI&T engineers.
• Ensure that the EI&T scope is delivered safely and in compliance with construction best practices and in support of
the commissioning and start-up requirements.
• Respond to EI&T construction related queries raised by the Contractor promptly and accurately.
• Continuously strive for execution performance benchmarked as top tier in the industry.
• Support of other disciplines as needed during construction phase – Working experience in mechanical/piping
construction is also expected.
• Capture, share and apply all discipline related learnings during construction and best practice.
• Participate in technical audits, (multidisciplinary) reviews and peer assists.
• Support commercial and claims defense for the project effort by providing technical advice on construction of EI&T
systems.
• Actively work with Client’s site discipline engineers to ensure EI&T Integrity, and Operability as well as Maintainability
& Inspection requirements are aligned / integrated with site standards.
Job Requirement
Skills & Requirements:
Experience / Education:
• Experience in project construction across disciplines (mechanical, piping) with special bias on EI&T systems.
• Experience in Maintenance & Operation of EI&T Systems.
• Experience in the design, application of ENMC system and understanding of power system studies.
• Experience in commissioning, start-up and operations.
• Familiarity with International Standards and knowledge of Electrical Shell DEPs.
• Preferably Chartered Member of recognised Professional Engineering institution
• Adhere to Shell HSSE standards, ORS, PMF and strong understanding of project processes: project tools such as
ASSAI, DCAF/PCAP.
• Proven ability in providing clear decision making in an environment of competing priorities
• Responsible to manage remnant project risks to ALARP levels and drive project opportunities.
• Focus on interface management, interface controls and follow-up.
• Actively participate in EI&T engineering discipline networks with the purpose of sharing knowledge and learnings
from construction.
• Applying the Project Delivery Model principles, moving from a hands-on to eyes-on influencing style enabling
contractors to deliver
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• BEng/Meng degree or equivalent academic qualifications in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical, preferably working in
operating units.
• Appropriate level of proficiency per Instrument/Control/Electrical Engineering Job Competence Matrix.
• Project experience in LNG export (liquefaction) facilities is a plus
• Experience executing projects in the construction phase
• Working and delivering results in a diverse and inclusive environment.
