Electrical Engineer (LV/MV) – Offshore Projects

Our client is a leading provider of engineering solutions specialising in offshore projects. We pride ourselves on delivering innovative and reliable solutions to our clients worldwide. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team in The Hague, Netherlands. This position offers a hybrid setup, providing a balance between remote and on-site work.

They are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in Low Voltage (LV) systems and a fundamental understanding of Medium Voltage (MV) systems. As an integral part of their offshore projects team, you will be responsible for making small modifications and improvements to electrical systems, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of offshore installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to analyse project requirements and develop electrical solutions.
• Conduct detailed design reviews and feasibility studies for LV and MV electrical systems.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of offshore projects.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimise electrical systems for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules and minimise downtime.
• Participate in project meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and advancements in LV and MV electrical engineering.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on LV systems. Experience in the offshore industry is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of MV systems and their interactions with LV systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex electrical systems and propose effective solutions.
• Familiarity with international standards and regulations governing offshore electrical installations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
