The Role            

My client with a proud history of delivering complex projects to the oil and gas and renewables industry are looking for an Electrical Technician to strengthen their team. The role sits within the Manufacturing, test & assembly division and is open to candidates coming from that background. In addition to performing general duties within the workshop environment, you will carry out any other requirements needed to allow the company to operate efficiently. This is an intermediate level position utilizing existing knowledge and skills learned, applying them with increasing independence if selected for this role.



Assist in the manufacture and testing of Topside equipment via production orders. All relevant paperwork in relation to service and manufacturing work orders are completed correctly and no hold points are passed.

Promote teamwork and take an active part in meeting customer’s service requirements across departments and projects.

Work with planners to ensure op timings and KPI’s correlate, and sign offs are closed in line with manufacturing requirements

At all times, promote safety awareness and comply with all applicable safety procedures and regulations, and ensuring unsafe activities are stopped

Assist the production engineer to ensure equipment is serviced and calibrated, and necessary tools are available for the job.

Collaborate with engineering & QC to certify correct documents and procedures are being used, and ensuring issues are correctly highlighted utilizing NCR’s and rework operations.

Ensure that all tools & equipment used is calibrated and fit for purpose, with appropriate cleanliness levels where required

Contribute to Continuous Improvement, including participation in Bi-monthly meetings

Actively work toward lowering our C02 emissions from the workshop setting and embracing digital solutions

As necessary, perform other duties requiring essentially the same level of skill and responsibility when required

At all times maintain a focus on HSSE, including participating in Safety Walks and ensuring unsafe activities are stopped


Skills Required.

Experience working within Manufacturing environment with Electrical equipment

Experience implementing Lean methodologies & Continuous Improvement tools

5+ years in related product experience

Able to use hand tools such as drills, files, saws

Comprehensive, practical knowledge of electrical systems – AC/DC arrangements, wiring and termination.

Understanding of networking principals, IP addressing, routing, Cisco networking components knowledge

Knowledge of Allan Bradley PLC environment, installing and testing PLC configurations

Calculating and configuring load banks for Electrical Power testing

Operation of electrical test equipment for example: multimeters, power analyzers, hi-pot tester

Configuration of Industrial Computers (IPCs) for test purposes

Familiarity with engineering drawings including manufacturing, general arrangement, and electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Sound mechanical knowledge including threads and thread forms, measuring units and conversions, basic math and mechanics, and properties of materials.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.

Understanding of Lean methodologies, including 5S

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel

Working knowledge of SAP

Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Trello applications
