Job Profile Summary:
The Emergency Management Professional, working under direct supervision, is responsible for assisting with the coordination and execution of routine operational activities and arrangements for emergency management. The role is responsible for supporting field teams in maintaining their Emergency Response Plans and Business Continuity Plans, collaborating with other business units and emergency response groups, and planning and implementing project work related to emergency management plans. The position requires experience in preparing emergency management plans, staffing and training response teams, and identifying response resources. The role involves coordinating drills, exercises and skill development for emergency response, crisis management and business continuity.
Job Description:
- Gains experience, completes routine emergency management tasks, and develops skills under direct supervision, supporting change efforts and participating in continuous improvement initiatives for the emergency management department.
- Maintains continual situational awareness and ensures effective procedures, plans, and resources for effective and immediate response to all emergencies involving employees, contractors, assets, products, and interests of the organization.
- Conducts research, analyzes data and presents findings for special projects that support the goals of the organization and offers mitigation planning expertise, guidance, and assistance.
- Facilitates information sharing between public and private partnerships to promote efficient communication and collaboration and gathers, compiles, and analyzes data sets from multiple sources and produces senior management level status reports, campus-wide programs and procedures, and general correspondence.
- Plans, facilitates, and implements project work, including coordination of exercises and drills, and preparation of emergency management plans, staffing and training of response teams, and identification of response resources.
- Serves as a critical role in Incident Management (IM) team for coordination of activities and supports the deployment of material and personnel consistent with Incident Action Plans and response leadership decisions.
- Contributes to inter-agency and intra-agency all-hazard emergency and incident specific planning and coordinates community preparedness workshops/conference addressing resilience issues.
- Analyzes information, problems, situations procedures, etc. to define the problem, identify relevant issues, and assists in preparing technical reports on damage assessment to the organization.
- Plans and facilitates life safety training to all levels of the organization in coordination with training needs.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Safety, Business Continuity, Business Administration, or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
Experience:
- 1 -3 years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as Emergency Management, Crisis Oral & Written Communication, Risk Assessment, Hazard Analysis, or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
