We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Engineering Specialist within our Production Operations Data Management group in Houston, TX.

As part of the Production Operations organization, the Engineering Specialist will support operations by maintaining configuration data, troubleshooting errors, and loading data into the Oxy Production Accounting system (ProCount).  Reporting to a Lead Data Analyst, the position’s responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve day-to-day production, venting, and flaring issues in Oxy’s production accounting system by maintaining system configurations for meters, tanks, networks, and routes.
  • Work with operations to load venting and flaring data into ProCount in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create meters, both physical and virtual, to support operational and business needs using standard naming conventions.
  • QA/QC meters for duplicates, standard naming conventions, state assignments, and categorization.
  • File or support filing State and Federal regulatory reports, as required by operations and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and remedy allocation and reporting issues.
  • Work with production accounting to resolve operational data issues in ProCount to improve allocations accuracy.
  • Work with operations, automation, and IT to manage and implement automation data points integrated directly to ProCount.
  • Reconcile and maintain ProCount relationships to systems such as SAP PM, SAP PRA, SHER, ProntoForms, and ACTS.
  • Support Production Accounting with errors/reconciliation between ProCount and PRA.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2 years Oil and Gas production experience working as a Well Analyst, Production Tech, Data Technician, or Production Accountant.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills are required, including:  expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic ability to read and write SQL queries.
  • Ability to recognize and manage the data streams from oil and gas production equipment including:  tanks, meters, flares, and LACTs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a technically diverse staff ranging from field operators to IT experts.
  • College degree is not required, but preference will be given to candidates with 4-year degrees in computer information systems or related fields.
