Job Description:
Our client is in need of a dynamic and highly organised Executive Assistant with experience in the mining, resources, or industrial sector. The ideal candidate is a proactive self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can anticipate needs before they arise, and brings structure, professionalism, and initiative.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high‑level administrative and strategic support to the senior executive.
- Manage complex calendars, meetings, travel, and logistics.
- Prepare executive-level correspondence, reports, presentations, and briefing packs.
- Coordinate and track actions, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
- Support mining-related projects, board meetings, site visits, and executive engagements.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and follow‑up action tracking for key leadership forums.
- Conduct light research and compile summaries for business decisions or operational planning.
- Act as a trusted point of contact between executives and internal/external partners.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Maintain strong relationships across operations, corporate teams, and stakeholders.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Relevant diploma or certification in administration, business, or similar field.
- 10+ years’ experience as an Executive Assistant in a mining, engineering, industrial, or heavy operations environment.
- Experience supporting C‑suite or senior operational leaders.
- Understanding of mining terminology, safety culture, and operational cycles advantageous.
- Proactive problem solver with strong critical‑thinking ability.
- Highly organised, deadline driven, and skilled at managing competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, and business systems.
- Currently based in Cape Town.
