Expression of Interest – Trades Professionals (Opportunities in Australia)
We will be seeking qualified Motor Mechanics (General) seeking employment-based relocation or skilled migration opportunities to Australia.
We are inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced automotive trades professionals who may be interested in potential future opportunities across Australia, including roles within commercial, industrial, and workshop-based environments.
This Expression of Interest is intended to create a talent pool for positions that may become available over the coming months and does not relate to a single, immediate vacancy.
The role of Motor Mechanic (General) involves the diagnosis, servicing, repair, and maintenance of motor vehicles and mobile equipment, including engines, transmissions, braking, and suspension systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with Australian standards.
This EOI is intended for skilled automotive trades professionals who meet Australian trade recognition and migration requirements and are interested in long-term employment opportunities within the Australian automotive sector.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Service, repair, and maintain engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension components.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Interpret technical manuals, service schedules, and workshop documentation.
- Conduct inspections and testing to identify wear, damage, or component failure.
- Ensure all work complies with workshop safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Complete job cards, service reports, and maintenance records accurately.
- Liaise with supervisors and workshop teams to prioritizes and complete work efficiently.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Support workshop operations through adherence to productivity, safety, and compliance requirements.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Recognized Trade Qualification as a Motor Mechanic (General).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience servicing and repairing vehicles or mobile equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and basic electrical systems.
- Practical experience with engines, transmissions, braking, and suspension systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic information.
- Understanding of workshop safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a workshop environment.
Visa Documentation Requirements:
- Valid passport
- Skills assessment – Trades Recognition Australia (mandatory for South African and Zimbabwean passport holders)
- Employment reference letters
- Academic and trade certificates
- English language test (IELTS / PTE or equivalent)
- Health examinations
- Police clearance certificates
