We are looking for a passionate Fabrication Engineer to join our team in Istanbul Global Project Centre office on permanent basis.
The Fabrication engineer is supporting the fabrication team for site fabrication activities. Depending on the business needs they can be in the local regional office or on the fabrication facilities of our subcontractors. The fabrication engineer is responsible for generating and managing technical scopes of work, supporting Fabrication Manager with technical bid evaluation, supporting the readiness, logistics and realisation of the whole work program (Qualifications, Material Reception, Fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing, System Integration Test (SIT), Load-out, final documentation) at fabrication yard premises in co-operation with key stakeholders within the project team.
What will you be doing?
- Review, comment and approval of supplier documentation.
- Follow closely delivery of all the raw material and incorporable equipment necessary to fabricate assigned scope.
- Drive readiness of the documentation to allow the start of the fabrication activities.
- Ensure that the Technical Queries (TQ) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) are properly issued by the site and answered by Company and the Engineering team.
- Coordinate interfaces between stakeholders, within fabrication Yard or fabrication supplier during the whole course of the project.
- Participate actively in the production and the update of the project fabrication schedule and the relevant floats.
- Prepare fabrication completion report & lessons learnt at the end of the project.
- Ensure that all project aspects will be properly managed as per project procedures and specifications (Health Safety Environment (HSE), Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC), Planning, and Cost)
- Drive engineering and drawings clarifications with yard.
- Ensure that all fabrication activities undertaken on Yard for the Project, comply with relevant legislative directives and are in accordance with the Client’s specifications and Subsea 7’s instructions. (HIRA, Cutting, fitting, welding, NDT, coating, FAT, SIT, lifting, load-out)
- Interface with other project disciplines (engineering, offshore installation, pre-commissioning, pipeline group, operations etc..) in the office to ensure scope definition, limits, coordination and alignment.
- Support contractual administration, procedures, consumables, certificates, site instructions, variation orders etc., that may be changes to the work.
- Implement any corrective action as defined by any documented audit and inspection carried out by Subsea 7 or Client Safety and Quality Departments pertaining to personnel, the worksite and supporting equipment.
- Ensure consistency between the contractual planning and the measured progress and investigate potential bottlenecks.
HSE
- Create a positive HSE culture ensuring fabrication subcontractor’s adhesion and implementation.
- Ensure that the fabrication facilities are developing, implementing and maintaining an HSE Action Plans for the worksite.
Quality
- Ensure that Production Quality Plan / ITP, if required, is in place and followed.
- Ensure that Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) are issued and closed-out, as and when required.
- Ensure Project QC team and Fabricator QC team are building final documentation in a continuous manner.
Feedback / Knowledge Management
- Provide input to fabrication report and as built performance/planning.
- Ensure that lessons learned relating to fabrication yard are registered in Fabrication SharePoint database.
- Develop continuous improvement of yard/fabrication facilities performance.
What experience would we like you to have?

- Desirable at least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
- Relevant experience in heavy steel / piping / jumper fabrication and remote worksites
- At least 5 years’ experience of fabrication processes, materials, testing and coating processes.
- Detailed knowledge and application of fabrication codes and standards.
- Relevant knowledge of Microsoft Project and Fabrication Scheduling
- Motivated and committed to work with sudden changes and fluid environment.
- Execution focused with proven, decision-making skills and leadership.
- Effective communication & organisational skills
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Turkish.
