Field Service Specialist

Job Summary

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the successful candidate shall undertake work related to the installation, maintenance, commissioning, repair, fault finding and inspection of Cameron Drilling equipment.  Duties will include liaising with customer point of contact at the job site, creating detailed service reports, participating in project work scope meetings and collaborating with Engineering and Project Management.  A strict adherence to procedural instructions is expected, along with active participation and adherence to QHSE requirements.

Main Duties:

  • Be willing and able to mobilise to customer sites, both on and offshore, at short notice, as required
  • Actively participate in pre-job briefs, ensuring preparation and mobilisation requirements are followed and understood
  • Act as the first point of contact for the customer at the job site
  • Provide detailed communication to Project Management and Supervisor during course of work scope
  • Ensure competency is maintained by attending all prescribed training courses
  • Review procedures, drawings and any other engineering documents related to the work scope to ensure all are current, correct and understood
  • Carry out / participate in toolbox talks prior to work commencing, ensure all permit to work and risk assessment documentation is in place and understood
  • Compile and submit relevant reports to Project Management, Supervisor and other stakeholders as required
  • Raise “Risk Identification Reports (RIRs)” and “Observation / Intervention” cards within QHSE system (Quest) – ensure all QHSE procedures are adhered to
  • Perform all work tasks in a safe and professional manner, ensuring good housekeeping at all times
  • Submit Field Service Order (timesheet) and Expenses in a timely fashion at the end of each mobilisation
  • Submit “Experience Capture” (On-the-Job Training) reports at the end of each project
  • Occasional attendance to Cameron office / workshop to support work scope preparation prior to mobilisation is expected
  • Assist with training and competence development of other Field Service personnel as required
  •  Be willing and able to develop technical skills beyond core expertise across Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Inspection competencies

Minimum Job Qualifications



  • Two years Field Service experience preferred
  • Previous experience with Rig Equipment and Pressure Control Equipment preferred, including but not limited to:
    • BOPs
    • Diverters
    • Risers
    • Control Systems
    • Choke and Kill Manifolds
    • Roughnecks
    • Top Drives
    • Draw works
  • Recognised qualifications in Mechanical / Electrical discipline preferred
  • Qualifications can be offset by Accredited prior experience and attained skill sets
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Report writing skills essential
  • IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Initiative to work independently or as part of a team, as well as working with minimal supervision essential
  • Willingness to be on job location for significant periods of time (4-6 weeks)
