Job Description:
Our client is seeking an accomplished Group Finance Director to lead the Group’s strategic finance function during a significant phase of growth and project development. This is a high-profile executive leadership role with a strong focus on capital raising, funding strategy, treasury management and financial governance, supporting the successful delivery of a large-scale mining project.
Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board and key financial stakeholders, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the Group’s funding strategy, leading debt and equity financing initiatives, managing banking and investor relationships, and optimising the Group’s capital structure. The role will also oversee treasury across multiple jurisdictions, managing liquidity and multi-currency exposures while ensuring the Group is well-positioned to meet its strategic and operational objectives.
Beyond funding and treasury, the Finance Director will provide oversight of consolidated financial reporting, governance and risk management across the Group, ensuring robust financial controls, regulatory compliance and transparent reporting to shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and driving the financial success of the organisation, making it an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded finance executive with extensive mining project finance and transaction experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead consolidated, IFRS-compliant financial statements and reliable Group-level reporting.
- Manage treasury and liquidity effectively across jurisdictions, minimizing multi-currency exposure risk.
- Advise on capital structure and funding strategy, maintaining strong lender confidence and full covenant compliance.
- Lead investor and lender negotiations and relationship management.
- Oversee cross-border tax strategy and compliance.
- Drive financial governance and internal controls, ensuring positive audit outcomes.
- Develop financial models, budgeting, and forecasting, with clear risk visibility to the Board.
- Provide financial due diligence and valuation support for investment decisions.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 15 years’ post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within mining/resources or a related industry.
- Proven ability in bank funding negotiations and capital structuring, with a track record of maintaining investor and lender confidence.
- Deep understanding of treasury, IFRS, and cross-border tax and compliance frameworks, including international audit and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing multi-currency portfolios and funding operations in emerging markets, with strong currency exposure and liquidity risk management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong commitment to integrity, transparency, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
- Adaptive and decisive in dynamic financial environments.
