We are looking for a fantastic Financial Reporting Accountant to join our Finance Resource Centre (FRC) team at our Westhill, Aberdeen office on a full-time, staff basis.

 

What will you be doing?

This position offers a challenging role in a dynamic and supportive team where you will be responsible for the financial reporting for a specific region.  You will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders. There will be many opportunities to learn and develop with the support and collaboration of the team around you.

 

Statutory Accounts

  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required.
  • Provide explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation and group accounting policies.
  • Support the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required.

Financial Controls

  • Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set.
  • Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities.
  • Assist with the review of Associate Accountants’ work.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions to establish best practice and process standardisation.
  • Champion standard ways of working with colleagues within the Subsea 7 finance community.
  • Coach Associate Accountants within the team.
  • Partner with the Subsea 7 finance community to resolve any financial reporting queries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Qualified or nearly qualified accountant with audits and accounts preparation experience (essential).
  • Experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process.
  • Self-motivated with a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Proven track record of good quality analysis and analytical review.
  • Experience within large multinational companies or large teams would be advantageous.
