Job Description:

Our client is a uranium mining operation. They are seeking a Geological Technical Services Manager who will be responsible for providing geological and technical services leadership to support safe, compliant, and value-optimised uranium mining operations. The role ensures geological models, resource estimates, grade control, and technical inputs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with operational and long-term mine planning requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the site geology and technical services team, ensuring capability, performance, and compliance.
  • Oversee geological modelling, grade control, and production reconciliation to maximise uranium recovery and minimise dilution.
  • Manage resource and reserve estimation in accordance with applicable reporting codes (e.g. JORC / NI 43-101).
  • Provide geological input to short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning.
  • Manage brownfields exploration programs to support mine life extension and resource confidence.
  • Ensure integrity and governance of geological data, systems, and QA/QC processes.
  • Support regulatory compliance, including radiation management, environmental approvals, and technical audits.
  • Act as the primary geological interface with corporate teams, regulators, and independent reviewers.
  • Accuracy of geological models and production forecasts.
  • Compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Optimisation of ore recovery and feed quality.
  • Development and performance of the geology team.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences (Honours preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in mine geology or technical services.
  • Strong experience in resource estimation, grade control, and geological modelling.
  • Proven leadership in a regulated mining environment.
  • Strong technical judgement and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with uranium mining operations and associated regulatory frameworks advantageous.
