What role you will play in our team
The Global Cash Management group includes three centralized Treasury Centers located in The Netherlands/Czech Republic, Singapore, and United States/Brazil that provide and support Banking Operations, Investments, and Trading activities.
The Global Cash Management group is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Banking Services Advisor in the Americas Treasury Center (ATC) ultimately located at the Houston Campus of Exxon Mobil Corporation in Spring, TX.
What you will do
The Banking Services Advisor will report to the Banking Services Manager, and has the following responsibilities:
Managing banking relationships and banking activities in the Americas region
Negotiating contractual terms and conditions, including pricing, for cash management banks used in the region
Ensuring that banking activities are handled according to internal guidelines, controls and processes as well as the contractual terms and conditions in place with the banks
Acting as the focal point for coordination and escalation of issues and requests from the various internal payables and receivables organizations, as well as the bank account reconciliation teams that interact with banks
Informing the Banking Services Manager of any irregularities or exception activities that arise within banking operations
Supervising/coordinating projects involving migration of affiliates to new cash management account structures and new cash management processes
Coordinating cross functional implementations of payment, bank statement, and other banking files
Periodically performing a high-level review of existing banking processes, and proposing initiatives to optimize internal processes as well as processes involving banks
Fielding questions from internal business lines, as well as external banks located in U.S., Canada and Latin America
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum B.S. or B.B.A. in Finance or Accounting, Master’s degree a plus
Understanding of accounting, banking and finance (e.g. interest rates, bank account reconciliation, recording of transactions on a general ledger)
Ability to apply business procedures and practices, ExxonMobil guidelines, ExxonMobil control standards and an understanding of related information systems to business events
Fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese a plus but not required
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Team oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence without formal authority
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently to meet priorities and deadlines
Ability to balance competing objectives
