Purpose of the Job

To provide a range of technical assistant services to the HSSE Team, including but not limited to dosimetry administration, KPI reports, statutory reporting, trending, and dissemination of learning, coordination, and administration of HSSE contracts and all other elements of the services delivered by the department.

The Job

Provides technical support to the HSSE department which includes but is not limited to:

  • Administration of the dosimetry systems for the site including the issuing of dosimetry
  • Technical authoring and checking, including relevant KPI reports
  • LFE reports including those following exercises
  • Administration of the Register of Significant Incidents system and associated reporting and action database (currently ReAct)
  • Trending and dissemination of LFE (supervised by others) -Administering the HSSE service demand and time booking process.
  • Reporting to the Strategy and Planning Manager provides technical  support to the wider HSSE team which includes but is not limited to:
  • Planning and scheduling work, project managing small to medium-sized projects and work packages
  • Administrating the department demand management process
  • Coordinating HSSE resource programmes to ensure they are implemented and delivered to plan. 
  • Co-ordinate the development and ongoing maintenance of the IMS portal.
  • Assist in the management of the HSSE Service Delivery Agreements and customer satisfaction assessment.

Delivers a range of generic HSSE activities as required by departmental management, including assisting with investigations, audits, inspections, continual improvement, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Good secondary education to at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (to include maths and English), or equivalent vocational qualifications.
  • Recognised internal auditor training (or a commitment to work towards)
  • Experience in work planning and execution processes and project management
  • Ability to establish and administer document management systems.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and programme own work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including good interpersonal skills necessary to work in a team environment and to liaise with all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to establish and administer planning and work execution processes
  • Previous experience as an administrator or assistant
  • Previous experience authoring or checking documents, preferably technical documents (Desirable)
  • Previous experience working within a technical department on a Nuclear site or in other high-hazard industries. (Desirable)
  • Previous planning experience (Desirable)
