ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
Geoscientists working at ExxonMobil are expected to develop a broad range of fundamental geoscience skills and the ability to comprehend, integrate knowledge, ideas, and skills to solve geological problems across exploration, development and production asset lifecycles. They have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and expertise throughout their careers. Assignments will provide the opportunity to acquire fundamental skills through on-the-job experience and training. Assignments can be in projects across the Upstream, ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company and Low Carbon Solutions
Primary Job Functions
What you will do
• General understanding of geological problem solving
• Ability to integrate diverse datasets across multiple scales to build subsurface models
• Candidates must be able to work effectively within and across diverse multi-discipline team environments
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should have MA/MS and/or PhD in Geology or Geophysics or Geoscience (or related fields)
Candidates should have a strong fundamental background in the earth sciences, physical sciences, and mathematics
Selected Geoscientists will start work in one of the following companies: Upstream, ExxonMobil Engineering and Technology Company, Low Carbon Solutions or XTO Energy
Must have the permanent right to work in the US
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/ Experience
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Coding ability, MatLab, Python, and Machine Learning are valuable skills for a geoscientist at ExxonMobil
