Job Description:
Our client, an international mining house with operating mines and projects in Africa, is seeking an experienced Internal Control Manager from the mining sector to join their team, based in Zimbabwe.
The successful candidate will have SOX experience, with the ability to both design and operate processes and controls along with strong systems implementation support experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement internal control frameworks across key finance cycles.
- Partner with Finance Transformation team to embed controls into processes and systems.
- Ensure SOX-compliant documentation, risk mapping, and control testing are in place.
- Monitor control execution and support remediation efforts.
- Promote a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Serve as key liaison for internal and external audits.
- Support training and aptitude building for the local finance team during and post-transformation.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- 6+ years’ experience in internal controls, audit, and finance change initiatives within the mining sector.
- Deep understanding of SOX compliance and best-in-class control frameworks.
- Demonstrated success designing and embedding controls within evolving or transforming finance environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO or Workday Adaptive Planning preferred.
Contractual Information:
- Permanent contract subject to successful completion of initial probationary / fixed term period.
