About the Role

Based in the Port Moresby office, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for inventory management in line with the company’s Inventory Management Procedure. The role ensures that the implementation of inventory optimization processes and tools are delivered through cost reduction and value creation opportunities as well as collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely project execution while maintaining compliance with company standards.

The Inventory Analyst’s commitment to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards will be paramount, as you seek continuous improvement and efficiency gains. Leading by example, you will foster collaboration and bring team members along, ensuring alignment with our vision for sustainable and safe operations.  

Key accountabilities include:

  • Manage company inventory in line with the Inventory Management Procedure
  • Execution and maintenance of MRP processes and system performance
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for inventory optimisation and improved inventory turnover, including the use of dynamic inter-plant sourcing
  • Conduct analysis of inventory classifications with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate safety stock levels, criticality, and allocation to bills of materials
  • Setting of appropriate safety stock levels, lot sizing, and rounding values to minimise obsolescence risk while ensuring efficient order quantities are maintained
  • Quantify potential obsolescence risk, highlight potential for disposal, and execute value recovery


About You

You will be experienced in:  

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook


Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant experience in Oil & Gas or similar industries, within large corporate environments.
