Junior Instrument and Controls Engineer – Schiedam, Netherlands
Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract working via Leap29, after the 12 months you will go into a potential permanent position.
Language Requirement: Dutch Speaking
We are seeking a Junior Instrument and Controls Engineer to support engineering activities on industrial projects in the Netherlands. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to develop hands-on experience in instrumentation and control systems within a dynamic project environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and specification of instrumentation and control systems for process installations
- Prepare and review technical documentation including datasheets, loop diagrams, and I/O lists
- Support senior engineers in project execution, commissioning, and vendor documentation review
- Conduct field surveys and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety guidelines, and client requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or projects in industrial environments are an advantage)
- Understanding of instrumentation systems, PLCs, and field devices
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; EPLAN or SPI knowledge is a plus
- Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) is a must
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Willing to travel to client sites when required
