Job Description:

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager with a background in earthmoving equipment contract management in open pit mining environments to manage 2 client sites in the DRC.

This role will oversee all operational, technical, and commercial aspects of product support on site.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily site operations across maintenance, repairs, field services, and condition monitoring.
  • Drive equipment availability and reliability through effective planning and rapid breakdown response.
  • Implement maintenance strategies, technical processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and develop a large multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure strong safety culture and compliance with HSE standards.
  • Act as primary contact for senior client stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, labour utilisation, and profitability.
  • Identify commercial opportunities including service upselling, rebuilds, and component programs.
  • Collaborate with OEM partners and internal teams on product improvements and technical programs.
  • Oversee asset, tooling, facility, and inventory management.
  • Provide regular reporting on KPIs, performance, financials, and customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mining) or Business Administration (advantageous).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance on mining operations.
  • At least 5 years in a senior site or operational management role in a dealer / OEM capacity on site.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mining equipment and maintenance strategies.
  • Proven experience managing large teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong financial, commercial, and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience working with dealer operations, service systems, and OEM interface processes.
  • Previous experience as an expatriate in Africa.
