Job Title: Lead EC&I Engineer
Location: Middlesbrough, UK
Industry: Nuclear, Gas or Petrochemical
Salary: Up to £75K per annum
Morson is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead EC&I Engineer to join our Clien’s team in Middlesbrough. As a Lead EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of electrical, control and instrumentation systems for nuclear, gas and petrochemical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and development of electrical, control and instrumentation systems for nuclear, gas and petrochemical projects
- Collaborating with other engineering teams, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that designs meet project requirements
- Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure that designs are safe, reliable and cost-effective
- Developing detailed design specifications, including technical drawings, bills of materials and engineering calculations
- Managing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards of quality
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and procedures, including those relating to nuclear safety
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and supporting their development
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering, control and instrumentation engineering or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in EC&I engineering, preferably within the nuclear, gas or petrochemical industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and procedures, including those relating to nuclear safety
- Experience with electrical and control system design, instrumentation and control, safety systems and software engineering
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
