Job description

Our client, a major company, is looking for a Legal Analyst to work on a 6-months contract in Houston, Texas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and negotiate a variety of agreements including, but not limited to the following: Sales Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Sponsorship Agreements, Master Sales Agreements, Incentive Agreements, Contract Amendments, Service Orders, Professional Service Agreements, all based on consultation with business partners and review by attorneys
  • Provide legal support to Global and North America Brand Marketing for brand marketing and advertising campaigns, including product offerings, saocial media and online content, sweepstakes, contests, press releases and sales and training materials
  • Provide technical support review for a variety of technical materials including, but not limited to the following: benchmarking and field trial testing data for a variety of new and/or existing Lubricants products, product data sheets, product labels, white papers and technical training materials
  • Draft and/or review a variety of real property documents including purchase and sale agreements, leases, title documents, purchase options, rights of first refusals and other similar agreements
  • Engage and provide recommendations (risk analysis) to business partners and attorneys on counterpartys changes to legal terms in agreements
  • Work closely with subject matter experts in tax, finance, intellectual property, information risk management, compliance, and insurance to integrate such guidance into commercial negotiations and agreements
  • Analyze and summarize documents for review by business partners and attorneys
  • Perform legal due diligence and legal research
  • Multi-task and prioritize work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product in a fast-paced work environment
  • Work closely with business partners and attorneys to resolve a variety of day-to-day issues and support a broad range of commercial transactions and/or projects
  • Recommend process improvements and simplification of tasks
  • Communicate clearly, simply and directly

Main requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 5(five) years experience as a paralegal negotiating and drafting agreements
  • Ability to effectively analyze and communicate legal issues across broad functional and organizational lines (e.g. procurement, business partners, and attorneys)
  • Ability to maintain high quality performance with varied deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, proofreading, editing, and research skills
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who is adept at working in a team environment and partnering with management, business partners, in-house counsel, outside counsel, and staff
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a law degree from an ABA-accredited school
