Primary Role

The Liaison Team Leader (LTL) is responsible for managing the Liaison team across the two Joint Ventures (ISG & IA), ensuring the liaison function is delivered to the highest standards while meeting the company and shareholder expectations and requirements — both functional and ethical.

Key Accountabilities and Tasks

  • Ensure the Liaison Team has the organizational capability and competence to deliver company’s liaison requirements and standards at all levels.
  • Provide executive assurance, support, guidance, and corrective instructions alongside the SAM to meet all company’s project internal and external security standards.
  • Establish and manage security quality management systems.
  • Plan and coordinate land and air transport in remote regions and develop journey management plans.
  • Manage the company’s Liaison Team across the two businesses, ISG and IA.
  • Ensure compliance of the Liaison Team with fit-to-work medicals and required training qualifications.
  • Manage and deliver security QA/QC systems.
  • Assist the company’s HSE department with root cause analysis and incident investigations.
  • Maintain effective communication with local and regional security commanders, in coordination with the SAM and ASI.
  • Manage the Incident Management Team, covering all types of emergency and crisis response.
  • Oversee budget management and tracking of Liaison costs.
  • Participate in the creation of project security plans, routine procedures, travel policies, and weekly security reports.
  • Oversee QA/QC of Self Verifications/Examinations aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Supervise the development of site security plans and risk assessments in accordance with API SRA 780 standards.

Operating Environment

Position based in Algeria. Some travel within Algeria and to company’s sites is required for ongoing verification and coordination.

Work is governed by company’s policies, procedures, standard practices, and ethical business conduct. Clear boundaries and reporting lines ensure company’s requirements are met and promote best practice within the IOC community.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competencies

Basic Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk and security management processes or related professional areas. Academic qualifications are desirable but practical experience is valued.
  • Strong expertise in corporate risk and security management.
  • Skilled in risk mitigation, analysis, and physical security systems.
  • Understanding of business continuity models.
  • Experience working in Algeria and North Africa is highly valued.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 15 years in risk and security management or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in instruction, training, leadership, and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; French language skills are required; Arabic language skills are desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and engage with all levels of staff.
  • French reading and speaking ability is highly valued, though not mandatory.
