Job Description:

The Maintenance Project Engineer will support maintenance and engineering activities within a large-scale open-pit mining operation. The role will focus on equipment reliability, maintenance projects and the effective execution of engineering initiatives. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring a strong presence in the field and close involvement with mining and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support maintenance and engineering activities across the mining operation.
• Plan and execute maintenance and engineering projects.
• Monitor equipment performance, reliability and availability.
• Identify equipment issues and implement improvement initiatives.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Work closely with maintenance teams, supervisors and operational personnel.
• Provide technical support for heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Assist with equipment inspections, troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and deliverables.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and technical service providers.
• Support equipment commissioning and maintenance improvement projects.
• Ensure engineering work complies with safety and technical standards.
• Prepare technical reports and project updates.
• Drive continuous improvement across maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience.
• Strong hands-on maintenance and engineering experience.
• Experience with heavy mobile mining equipment / mobile fleet.
• Experience in maintenance projects and equipment reliability.
• Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience working with contractors and technical service providers.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Previous international or expatriate mining experience would be advantageous.
• Good command of English, Spanish or French.
