About the Role
Based in our Port Moresby office, this role will provide leadership to the team of Business Partner’s and HR administrators in Papua New Guinea. The team provides quality HR advice to Santos in country leaders on a broad range of matters including attraction and retention of talent, developing capability and maximize performance in support of business objectives.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work with the Santos centres of excellence to ensure outcomes that match business needs and operating requirements for PNG
- Support Santos employee engagement strategies and employee survey feedback cycle
- Facilitating the implementation of the annual HR process with leaders; talent management, performance planning process, performance review, bonus and salary review, and employee development
- Collaborating with the Business Leaders to assist with the Recruitment Process
- Increasing leaders’ understanding and effectiveness in delivering desired people outcomes via HR policy/process while reducing the need for HR intervention
- Ensuring compliance with and adherence to company standards and processes
- Track HR processes such as leave, contractor assignments and manage relationships with third party suppliers of labour
- Ensure that the PNG Business unit is operating withing budgeted headcount when making recruitment decisions
- Supporting the Business Partners to drive better performance outcomes and disciplinary decisions where required
About You
You will need to demonstrate:
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within designated timeframes in a complex and commercially focused company
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide advice and feedback
- Previous experience in managing a Human Resources team of professionals
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Gathering and monitoring of HR information and the use of data analysis to generate better business outcomes
- Demonstrated team player; supporting delivery of broader team objectives
- Influencing skills, ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment adapting to regular change
Ideally you will have worked previously in the Oil & Gas Sector (or other Resources/Construction Industry) and will be degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant HR/Business related discipline.
