Mechanical Completion & Commissioning Specialist – Telecoms

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Completion & Commissioning Specialist (Telecoms) to work within their facilities located in Ingleside, TX for an initial 3-month contract (possibility of extension).

Accountabilities:

  • Participate in walkdowns of telecoms systems and subsystems to verify installed in accordance with drawings/specifications, raising punches when work is identified as non-compliant.
  • Sign-off of “A” check-sheets for the telecoms systems and subsystems.
  • Support activities associated with commissioning and start-up planning and execution activities of the telecoms systems and packages.
  • Ensure that any/all punch list items are captured, tracked, and closed by working with the various teams to meet the project deliverables.
  • Ensure all telecoms commissioning, and start-up activities are planned and executed in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.
  • Ensuring telecoms plans and schedules are aligned and the necessary resources (vendors, tools materials, craft labor) are secured for execution to minimize schedule constraints.
  • Support the tracking, progressing, and optimization of the commissioning execution schedule in conjunction with other disciplines onsite.
  • Coordination with telecoms vendors and ensure alignment procedures, materials, tools, and resources required for the execution of commissioning activities.
  • Support the resolution to any site or technical queries to resolve issues raised and continue to progress the execution of construction and commissioning turnover.

Responsibilities:

  • Degree or diploma/certificate or journeyman in either electrical, instrumentation or telecommunications field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry (preferably offshore) with exposure to construction, completions and/or commissioning of telecoms systems.
  • 10+ years of experience with the construction, completions, operations, maintenance and/or commissioning of telecoms systems.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in USA.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with a variety of people/disciplines.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Project.
  • Working knowledge of Smart Completions software – Hexagon is preferable.
  • Able to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, SLDs, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Experience in working with construction contractors at their facility during the building and commissioning of the facilities.
  • Experienced in reviewing MC and commissioning check-sheets and Walkdown Packages, understands system priorities and schedules.
  • Experienced in verification and close out of the punch list items and site queries to facilitate system MCs and RFSU Certificates.
  • Experienced in scheduling and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning telecoms systems.
  • Familiarity with offshore health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
