Role and Responsibilities:

  • The Package Responsible Engineer is tasked with technical responsibility for one or more procurement packages within a project.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with project requirements, meeting quality and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) targets, and adhering to delivery timelines.
  • The PRE collaborates with Package Responsible Buyers (PRB) and Project QA/QC Managers (PQM) within the project delivery team.
  • Reporting structure involves reporting to the project discipline lead and the project engineering manager.

HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality):

  • The PRE is expected to take personal responsibility for HSEQ, focusing on their own behavior.
  • Compliance with the code of conduct is essential.
  • Contribution to the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of products and deliveries.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of technical documentation for procurement packages.
  • In-depth knowledge of project requirements.
  • Involvement in technical Pre-Order Activities, such as bid clarification meetings and preparations for technical parts of bid meetings with suppliers.
  • Key deliverables include contributions to the procurement strategy, technical requisition, equipment datasheets, technical bid evaluation, and resolution and coordination of technical deviations and clarifications.
  • Post-order activities involve participating in kick-off meetings, inspections, progress meetings, and coordination of supplier deliverables.
  • Analysis of client comments and advice to the project team regarding potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations.

Formal Competence, Experience, and Skillset:

  • A relevant technical engineering degree (BSc minimum, MSc preferred) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry with knowledge of NORSOK specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, fluency in English (Scandinavian language preferred), and a structured, analytical, and detail-focused approach.
  • General understanding of supply chain methods.
