Job Description:
Our client, an international mining services provider, is seeking a GCC qualified Mechanical Engineer with maintenance expertise on underground drills to join their team in Limpopo.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of drilling equipment reliability and availability.
- Analysing and minimising drilling equipment downtime and ensuring fleet availability remains above 85%.
- Liaising with the Client Engineering Manager on issues related to equipment specifications and relevant SOP’s.
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and in accordance with required policies and procedures.
- Quality assurance for plant maintenance.
- Active input into investigating and resolving machines issues including from Operator feedback.
- Project management and execution.
- Record keeping and administration related to drilling equipment.
- Mentoring and training of subordinates, with positive input into employee retention and performance management.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
- GCC Mines essential.
- 5 years previous experience in engineering maintenance of underground drilling equipment.
- 5 years previous experience in a management level position overseeing heavy equipment / drill fleet maintenance.
- Well-versed in legal compliance in underground mining.
- Previous experience mentoring and training multicultural teams.
- Previous experience in client facing roles as a contractor or services provider on a mine.
- Valid Drivers’ License.
