Mining Engineers – Open Pit

NES Fircroft has partnered with a Global Mining Operator to source for multiple Mining Engineers to join their Operations team on a permanent position based here in the metropolis Western Australia.

Employing over thousands of people, due to continued growth our client is now looking for a energetic Engineers to join their operations with available opportunities across Short-term Mine Planning, Mid-term Mine Planning, Mine Design, Operation Readiness and Drill & Blast teams. 


  • You will have expertise in mine engineering, drill blast engineering, fleet management systems and short term planning
  • The ability to use data to assess and advise on operating strategies and tactics to achieve the most efficient and cost effective operating methods
  • Effective communicator and motivator of change, championing the implementation of improvement initiatives within the mine to a stage of sustainable performance
  • Solid knowledge of Vulcan software, XACT (or similar) and Alastri (Desirable)
  • Scheduling functions (load and haul, development, drilling and blasting, product stockpiles and rail) to ensure robust production scheduling and conformance procedures are in place enabling the site to achieve daily, weekly, monthly and annual production targets (volume and quality)
  • Mine designs to meet operational requirements
  • Drill and blast design and drill scheduling


  • Degree in Mining Engineering
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an Open Pit/Cut operations
  • Experience in mine software including Vulcan and Alastri (desirable)
  • Experience in short term scheduling (daily, weekly and monthly) and drill and blast
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • An understanding of Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Current WA “C” class drivers licence

This is FIFO role ex Perth offered on a 8 on 6 off Roster.
