This role focuses on biodiversity conservation, partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement offsetting strategies aligned with international standards. Join a leading East African infrastructure project as an Offsetting Coordinator. This role focuses on biodiversity conservation, partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement offsetting strategies aligned with international standards. The position supports sustainable development in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the project in biodiversity offsetting initiatives.
- Develop surveys and management plans for a National Park.
- Liaise with Tanzanian wildlife authorities (TANAPA, TAWA) to secure approvals.
- Identify conservation targets and oversee field teams.
- Ensure compliance with IFC standards and environmental assessments.
Requirements:
- Education: PhD in environmental science or a related field; primatology expertise preferred.
- Experience: 20+ years in conservation projects, with knowledge of Tanzanian regulations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Critical Habitat Assessments and conservation biology.
- Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in English.
