The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do:

As the People Systems Lead, you will lead the optimisation and evolution of enterprise HR systems across the full hire-to-retire lifecycle. Sitting at the intersection of People & Culture, technology and data, this role ensures HR platforms are reliable, scalable and future-ready. You will lead a specialist team, partner closely with internal and external technology providers, and champion automation, standardisation and innovation to enable better workforce decisions and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing people systems and reporting team, fostering collaboration, capability and service excellence
  • Owning and optimising core HR systems, with a strong focus on SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central and connected modules) and ServiceNow
  • Driving the People Systems technology roadmap, ensuring platforms remain fit-for-purpose and aligned to business strategy
  • Partnering with IS and external vendors to deliver system enhancements, upgrades and new functionality
  • Leading systems configuration, testing, deployment and adoption while minimising operational risk
  • Ensuring seamless integrations and high-quality, reliable people data across platforms
  • Overseeing HR data governance, privacy, security, access controls and compliance obligations
  • Managing system incidents, prioritising demand and continuously improving processes to enable automation and standardisation
  • Delivering people data reporting and analytics capabilities that support insight-led decision making
  • Acting as a trusted subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on HRIS capability, opportunities and best practice

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within an HR systems or HRIS environment, with the ability to build and lead capable teams
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end hire-to-retire lifecycle within complex organisations
  • Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors, particularly Employee Central, or comparable enterprise HR platforms such as Workday
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical system solutions
  • Experience with systems integration, data management, reporting and analytics
  • Demonstrated capability in process improvement, standardisation and technology-enabled automation
  • Degree qualifications in HR, Information Systems, Technology or a related discipline

What you’ll get:

Here, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.

What you’re part of:
