Work Experience
• A minimum of 3yrs. Working as a field operations technician, Permit Coordinator and Document Control in an oil and gas producing field. Oil and gas industry experience will be an added advantage.
Skills (Added Advantage)
• Ability to read and interpret process engineering flow schemes (PEFS) and process drawings.
• Basic understanding of Distributed control system. Preferably Yokogawa DCS
• Demonstration of a full knowledge of wellhead systems & integrity management.
• Experience in actuator valves and ESD systems operation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft desktop office suites (power point, excel, word and outlook.
• A Knowledge of recognized electronic Document Management System will be an added advantage.
• Awareness of Permit Vision, SharePoint, UTL, Assai, EDW Software will be an added advantage.
Soft Skills
• Ability to understand and perform production operations (volume, pressure) calculation.
• Ability to understand unit of various variables i.e., pressure, volume, flowrate etc.
• Onsite Hazards identification and Risk assessment capability.
• Flexibility and adaptability.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Field Operator support/PCF/Document Controller will be responsible for the following:
• Monitor, control and record production rates and performance, Prepare daily production report for DPR.
• Start-up wells and facilities (hot and cold start).
• Perform basic troubleshooting on wells and facilities to ensure stability.
• Perform daily first line monitoring of process parameters and variables.
• Gather daily production data, determine the production performance.
• Participate in console review meeting, Daily notification and YTT review meeting
• Prepare equipment for maintenance interventions plant isolation etc.
• Prepare the wells and facilities/equipment for (re) commencement of production/processing.
• Perform monthly well test and sampling of producing wells.
• Supervise preparation of equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required.
• Manage and track the flow and storage of documents within the system.
• Ensure the implementation of document management policies, standards, procedures, and initiatives.
• Safeguard the physical integrity of information/record and ensure application of information security.
• Ensure effective project to asset handover of documents post project commissioning. Also ensure traceable distribution, filing and archiving of documents from Contractors and vendors.
• Liaise with supervisors, work preparers and scheduler, on upcoming work plans to ensure smooth administration of the PTW system and minimize disruption to operation activities due to PTW delays.
• Ensure documents associated with permits e.g., Lifting certificate, Isolation, LFI, WMS, MJR, JHA/ risk assessment etc. are attached before progressing for authorization.
• Review/Verify documentation (permits, certificates, JHA, checklists, SHOC card, procedures etc.) to ensure that hazards, controls, and mitigations are identified.
• Check to ensure isolation, associated boundaries, hazard control measures, valid documents etc. are maintained during work execution.
• Act as first line check for conflicting work activities, using Manual of Permitted Operations (MOPO)/ Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS), isolation boundaries and considering potentially hazardous operations.
• Manage audits and assessment to drive the effectiveness of the permit to work system and perform periodic audits on the critical documentation in the facility.
• Ensure awareness of PCF/IM processes, standards and guidelines and cascade same to team.
Work Cycle
• The work location is a land-field based (Gbaran Ubie integrated Gas plant) accessible via land and Air.
• Work is Port Harcourt based and you may be required to attend courses in Shell IA PHC or other PHC locations as advised as well as other official assignments
• The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
• There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule.
• The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
• Personnel may be required to work extended hours as need may arises.
