Missions / Service Dimensions
The selected engineer will contribute to the techno-economic modeling of energy systems to support long-term electricity price forecasting, especially in terms of consumption and production patterns.
Main Activities
- Model electricity demand under assumptions such as weather sensitivity, sectoral growth, social behavior, etc.
- Simulate generation by technology, including renewable penetration and hydroelectric system models (water inflow, etc.)
- Adapt energy system modeling to reflect evolving regulations and market design
- Support development of a roadmap for electricity markets as part of the research program
- Conduct industrial and scientific research on electricity market optimization
- Identify and assess challenges posed by large-scale renewable energy deployment
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business units, academic institutions, and R&D programs
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Education: Master’s degree or PhD in energy systems or electrical engineering
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in fundamental market price modeling
- Market knowledge: Familiarity with electricity market structures in Europe and/or the USA
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency in Python
- Knowledge of modeling tools: Plexos, Antares, PowerFactory, etc.
- Languages: Fluent in English and French
