Petrofac is seeking a Senior Geomodeller – PAYE  12-month contract position based in Aberdeen.

Job Title:  Senior Geomoddeller

Working with multi-disciplinary teams applying state of the art reservoir modelling tools and techniques to support field development planning and to generate and to generate and evaluate an opportunity portfolio for mature fields.  The Senior Geomoddeller will be working on construction of fit-for-purpose reservoir static and dynamic models, coordinating, integrating and managing geoscience and reservoir engineer support to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Responsible for performing all duties with due regard to the health, safety of self, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken.

·         Build, update and or provide input to fully integrated geological models, including accurate fault modelling, (3D geo-cellular models) for input into reservoir simulation, utilising latest geological modelling techniques and numerical analysis methods (Petrel).

·         Conduct detailed technical evaluations of rock and fluid distributions in individual reservoir systems utilising petrophysical, geological and seismic data.

·         Application of geo-statistics and uncertainty analyses

·         Apply modern understanding of facies and play concepts, developing predictive tools for reservoir development decisions and field evaluations.

·         Good understanding of standard and special core analysis, upscaling techniques for dynamic reservoir properties for inputs into analytical and numerical simulation models.

·         Optimisation of Appraisal/Development well locations in conjunction with the geoscientists and reservoir engineers using Petrel as the common work platform.

·         Establish and maintain technical database of all geological interpretation.

·         Work closely with drilling engineers, operations geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers on all aspects of well planning and implementation.

·         Provide geological input to well workover / recompletion proposals and activities.

·         Provide technical input to drilling programs for appraisal and development wells (Geological X sections, correlations and facies models).

·         Prepare and present technical data to clients during all stages of project evaluation, to achieve endorsements and approvals for proposed activities.

·         Conduct resource assessments to guidelines for all oil and gas fields

·         Liaise with other technical and commercial disciplines (drilling, reservoir, production, petroleum, commercial) to ensure constructive and full integration of pertinent data into all reservoir asset evaluations.

·         Mobilise to client’s office or drilling site, when appropriate, abroad or in country, to support team and activities.

·         Technical presentation to peers, clients, partners and government agencies

Deliverables:

·         Fit for purpose and up to date static reservoir models.

·         Concise reports of all studies and maintain organised records of input and interpreted data.
