Job Role Summary
The Process Safety Advisor takes a lead role in ongoing implementation and oversight of the siteâ€™s EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) and OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) program. This role coordinates all RMP resubmission work, Title V reasonable inquiry for RMP, ongoing system improvement work, and implementation of new requirements. In addition to RMP/PSM oversight, the Process Safety Advisor is the siteâ€™s investigation system subject matter expert working with teams to maximize learnings from incident investigations. The Process Safety Advisor provides Process Safety and Risk Management data system oversight, completes data analysis, and identifies and drives system improvements and system updates including training end users and system administrators. The Process Safety Advisorâ€™s expertise in prevention programs is leverage to implement enhanced Process Safety process improvements as needed.
Job Role Responsibilities
Maintain and ensure a safe working environment at the site, by ensuring compliance with PSM / RMP requirements
Provide Investigation System subject matter expertise and oversee system effectiveness and improvement
Coordinate implementation for enhanced Process Safety process improvements
Identify and coordinate implementation of new RMP / PSM requirements and improvements
Develop and improve system management tools as needed for implementation of improvements and updatesÂ
Maintain and improve Process Safety and Risk Management data system
Complete system data analysis and identify areas of improvement
Train end users and system administrators on system processes, requirements, and data entry
Coordinate Title V RMP reasonable inquiry
Collaborate with applicable Process Safety networks to maintain safety and compliance leadership and share best practices
B.S. in Science; Safety Engineering; Process Engineering; or equivalent degreeÂ
A minimum of 5 years in direct RMP / PSM experience
Excellent oral & written communication skills and problem solving ability
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
The ability to work in a dynamic, team environment, fostering collaboration within the organization, or an individual contributor to apply safety and risk management tools
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
Intermediate to advanced level database skills and desktop program skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong analytical and communication skills
Demonstrated work experience in supporting downstream operations
Experience in implementing RMP / PSM prevention programs
